Berbatov ready for season finale - by Saul McNeilage
Dimitar Berbatov is available for selection ahead of Spurs' end of season showdown against Liverpool at White Hart
Lane on Sunday.
The Bulgarian striker has shrugged off the groin strain that kept him out against Reading and should take part in what
could be his last game for the club.
Berbatov looks highly likely to be moving on from the Lane this summer with Manchester Utd, Barcelona, AC Milan and
Real Madrid all reportedly interested in the 27 year old with Spurs thought to be looking for around £20million - £30million
for the player.
“It depends on what the offer is and whether the club will accept that,” Spurs manager Juande Ramos, said. “I know big
clubs want to sign him. The player will only go to a club if he wants to. We want the player to be happy. He has the key
to this and it is up to him.
“Obviously, we have to cover our backs in case the player decides to leave and we have to have options to replace
him,” Ramos continued. “There are great players in Europe that can do just as well as Berbatov.”
Teemu Tainio is also back in training following an achilles injury but Paul Robinson and Aaron Lennon remain doubts
and could join Ledley King, Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto on the sidelines for Sunday's game.
