A proper old school fixture, altough Wolves made a welcome return to the top flight this season I reckon we could absolutely tear the arse out of them if we are bold.I can dream.

I read somewhere that Bassong has been carrying a knee injury for sometime now so we may find Kaboul taking his place,I also expect Kranjcar to start this game as Harry tries to keep everyone motivated,and with an eye also kept on Eidurs fitness in recent days I hope he is finally ready for some game time as we could do with some ice cold finishing in front of goal.

Wolves fan here. It's nice to read comments about this being an old school fixture and us wolves were very excited at being back on the top flight last summer. I've always had a soft spot for Spurs and when we weren't a PL club yours were the results I always looked for in the top flight.
Well, as you can see by the table and our results that things haven't worked out as we'd wished.
If you think Harry makes poor team selections you should see McCarthy's. I fear for us and as his "square pegs, round holes" systems don't work. You're in a good position and you shouldn't worry about not making a top four finish - at least you're an established Premier League club.
Although I'm looking forward to a good game with you lot, I fear the worst for us. I hope we can get the three points but after Sunday against that shower down the road, McCarthy's arrogance and constant tinkering I find it hard to see where our next three points are coming from.

I honestly think Harry plans to use Gudjohnsen as an attacking midfielder rather than a striker in the same way he used to try and utilise Keane. In which case I don't expect to see him start untill we play ManU, Chavski or the Arse, y'know, when Harry suddenly feels the need to look more defensive 4-5-1 (or 4-4-1-1 depending on how you look at it). With any luck Eidur will get a few sub appearances prior to this....hopefully starting at Wolves when we decide to protect a 0-3 lead.

We need Lennon back sooner, rather than later. The team just doesn't look like scorign without him!

As per usual another s.eason stutters to the inevitable fight for the EUFA cup place rather than the Champions League. Harry talks a good game but I have never thought he had the real football nouse to be a top flight manager. His tactical capability is limited as we have seen in recent weeks, culminating in doing nothing when, once again, we were unable to put a game to bed. Complaing about great goalkeeping and being unlucky are ok for the odd game but when it is happening match after match, something more serious is wrong! Surrounding himself with the "kick it 'ard, kick 'im hard" knowledge of Joe and bag-man Kevin just about sums the deep thinking that goes into our plans and tactics. I hate to say it but Wenger must having a good laugh at Harry's "we will be in the fight for 4th right down to the last. It seems that if Lennon is not available then we are unable to adapt but surely some imaginative substitutions and formations might give us a better chance of turning the tide. The Villa game was set up for Gudjohnson to score a fairytale winner on his debut. Oh well, next year will definitely be our year!!!

We don't seem to be having many problems creating chances, it seems putting them away is the problem. Why don't we give a go to our two most clinical finishers up front ie Defoe and Pav.

If we were not creating chances I would agree that two goal poachers would be a luxury, but Modric, Bale, Bentley and Hudd are all liking well with the strikers and working to win the ball back. I'm not saying Defoe and Pav are the perfect combination but doing the same things with the same people generally gets the same result, ie disappointing draws.

Well now we have cover for the broken man in defence and the enigma in midfield doesn't get much pitch time so I suppose we can focus our energies on our 1 dimentional striker.

Gudjohnsen is a good move by Harry. We all recognised that Keane wasn't in the form he was prior to his move to Pool. He had to bring someone in that could fill a number of roles (as he made Keane do). Gudjohnsen will certainly work well with the strikers we have. Lets hope he gets pitch time tonight.
Wolves are desperate for a win. hopefully that will mean they at least try and attack. We 'should' be too strong and too good for them.

Well we've had at least 3 keepers "play a blinder" at the lane this season. Though I can't help but think it's more down to us not being clinical enough and making it too easy for the keepers. I recently read Harry saying how we just haven't been getting the luck in front of goal, my thoughts are that the best teams don't rely on luck and if we think it's luck that'll get us goals/wins/4th place, then it's not going to happen.

It's like if a striker is out of form, you'd be more worried if they weren't getting the chances. We've dominated some very good sides home and away and at the same time looked pretty solid at the back. I think we're going to thump a side soon. Just my gut feel!

There is no doubt we have been having a run of bad luck with penalty decisions, offsides and meeting keepers who play a blinder. If this luck evens out over a season we can expect some dodgy decisions and deflected goals in our favour in the run in. Lets hope it's in games that count and we don't get them all in one game (unless its against Ar5ena1).

What amazes me is that we have the ability to pummel some teams for 90 minutes yet when faced with a top 4 team we can't even seem to stand our ground!

It's a tough one Alan. I'd always want Modric in my team but we are lacking goals. I'm glad it's not my decision. Could we put Krancjar on the right and leave Bentley out?

I feel having two midfielders who like to cut in from wing positions leaves us too narrow so I would only play that if we were playing short strikers. He's not tried with Kranjcar in the middle in place of hudd for games against lesser sides. At home it could give us a more attacking edge?

Thats tough kranc was dropt when on fire for modric which for me was a poor mistake from harry modric should have been blead back in slower but now for me kranc has dropt of the pace and we now have two average players at the moment, the same will happen to bentley and bale??? bale and bentley are rolling at the moment, it will take bae and lennon a few games to get going again and like the modric kranc situation it will cost us points!!!

I hope Bale continues ahead of BAE for now. BAE is probably the better defender but Bale is learning fast. I am just worried Lennon is coming back not fully recovered. Hernia injuries (according to my sad google searches) only fully heal with surgery with physio work only providing a short term fix.
