Not f ing good enough!!

by Saul McNeilage

I'm spitting bricks this morning.

What the hell was that last night at Wolves? Another missed opportunity that's what.

With Liverpoo losing and Villa only picking up a point, we had the perfect chance to regain 4th spot but, yet again, we didn't turn up.

I think enough's been said in Alan's article about Harry's team selection last night but, please. Kaboul at right back? Do me a favour.

I'm not one for going into stats too much but since Aaron Lennon's injury we have played 6 games, won 1 and scored only 3 goals. The sooner the winger returns the better.

It's all gone way too limp and we'll be lucky to finish 7th at this rate.

Come on ffs!

As soon as I saw the line up I thought: here we go another f k up. Modric on the bench? If Harry is going to play to try and please and appease then we have no chance. COYS.

2| Sir garfield (78.32.180.209) 2010-02-11 09:09:01

jenas is crap. Jones walzed round him for the goal and against Birmingham he failed to close down the cross for the equaliser. Why can the fans see it and not harry? The midfield is what wins titles and Hudd cannot be blamed for having a tosser next to him. It was lost in the first half. Don't mind the playing of Gudjonson mix it up a bit but should have been Pav. And if you are going to play someone new at right back then surely Kyle walker is the one. He is excellent and will go on to be an England star. Kaboul is left pegged and naive.
Palacios should play every week, we do not have a replacement. We have just lost 4th spot and will finish 6th. Thanks Harry.

3| raver (83.71.26.133) 2010-02-11 09:10:24

bentley was world class last night. shocking result. spurs have become too ease to play against once lennon is missing. no pace in the team last night. jj was awful the way he left his man score wolves goal. harry was resting players and it back fired he should stick to the rule play your best 11 no matter what unless your next game is a cup final

4| Bert Trautmann (94.197.204.133) 2010-02-11 09:11:02

Sooooooooooo simple-good or bad manager he sign Tevez and Marcherano and fak off West Ham, he sign Crouchy,Defoe on 70K a week Pompey went fak all,now he cant sign before he sell so he does team selection fak all.Harry is an old chicky c nt who is after the money so is Coward Webb.Pompey won that 1st cup since ever after 1:0 at Old Tartford and early on this year we lost from Man Urineted 3-1 after we was 2-1 down and they were man down-he did change right back for right back to take advance of this advance.Harry buy players only if he got something on it.There was a Greek owner of a restaurant called Satirios-his buisnes went down, he is bad gambler on horces. The dodgy Manchester part of society have a chance of over 10 casinos in London wich Alex Ferguson was a manager of.He pull Satirios out of his troubles and now he is the one who fix games for Man urine.a week b4 that game i've been told we gona lose from man u simply because Harry is in Alex pocket-enough say-not much as a bright future with Harry.Hope tax man will got him or why was that beting out of nowhere in midd september Harry to be 1st to be sack as a manager???think of this way!!!we are middtable cause since premiership is on we have no manager apart from Martin Jol.and he was sack.Shame.Mazel tov and zip hail
and dont hit harry with the ball when he do an interview in the front of camera because you will be facking reserve team, thats why

redknapp out

6| raver (83.71.26.133) 2010-02-11 09:13:34

an just to pis@ everyone off, kaboul proved my point last night you play a player in his best position. kaboul is a cen back and to all of ye who wanted to play him def mid forget about it.

7| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 09:15:59

Bert what are you talking about? Raver, Bently world class? Well if thats world Class Algeria will win the world cup. He is an average player with no pace. His crosses rarely trouble defences, as they are mostly on the edge of the area. Please lets hope Lennon recovers quickly because, with the form Everton are on, we wnt make 6th.

8| Bert Trautmann (94.197.204.133) 2010-02-11 09:17:32

Just to make it more clear-Kaboul was playing DM before we sign him and his 2nd option was to be CD.Harry discover discovery channel-RB.Next game Ben Alnwick up front

9| Bert Trautmann (94.197.204.133) 2010-02-11 09:19:32

Alfie hope you do well with ladys if you after the movie.i'm talking about our manager who is selling and pissing our favorite club.got it?

10| Bert Trautmann (94.197.204.133) 2010-02-11 09:21:16

do your self -google or whatever Satirios-owner of greek restaurant in manchester now manager of London casinos-research, read , think!!!

11| Spezza THFC (194.131.213.33) 2010-02-11 09:24:38

Do we ever win a game when Jenas plays.. he offers nothing defensively or nothing offensively.. I'm beginning to think I hate him more than Dozzell, Howells, Edinburgh, Nethercott etc. Jesus we had some bad players then...It's just if Harry had any ounce of tactical nouse, then we would not be so inconsisted.. that's why he goes for the tried and trusted players everytime. He can't see a problem and resolve it straight away during the match. FRUSTRATING as HELL!!! Forget 4th now, We'd get mullered in the champions league anyway... Let's go for the FA Cup now. In the summer get rid of that c@nt Jenas...tossbag, POB lookalike!!

12| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 09:29:04

Bert, I literally mean I couldn't understand what you wrote.

13| STEVE THE YID (62.140.196.147) 2010-02-11 09:33:30

Fed up with Harry's usual after match comments, the squad is clearly nowhere near good enough, without Lennon where is the pace ? Palacios is the only player to put his foot in,Hundredstone is about as mobile as a barge,Kranjcar is the biggest tart I've ever seen and my nan can run quicker than Corluka,Bambi is more physical than Crouch and Jenas goes missing quicker than Lord Lucan.Bye bye Harry, you kept us up,that is what you are good at,now we need to employ a manager who knows how to win the league.
Footnote:we have played 33 matches so far this season and failed to score in 10 of them, hardly an ampressive record.

14| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 09:36:48

I Don't know why you're so mad Saul, Your site is getting more visits today than ever. And they say us spurs fans are not a bunch of moaners. Things go well this site is like a graveyard. A few bad results and it's hopping.

15| jimspur (83.105.58.74) 2010-02-11 09:39:38

I share everyones anger of course, but really im amazed why anybody should ever expect anything different. Every weekend i expect a fcuk up, tottenham do it every single season and we should expect nothing less. I have always cringed at the talk of top 4, not for one second did i think we would do it. not because we are not potentially good enough, but becasue we always shoot ourselves in the foot.

Jenas must go, every team sheet i see with his name on it, i expect defeat. I'd rather have o'hara back than him, how many chances are you supposed to give him??

16| Simon (148.106.128.38) 2010-02-11 09:40:24

Careful what you wish those calling for Harry's head. Mark Hughes is available.....

17| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 09:49:43

It's performances like last night that make you lot happy ... something to have a good moan about !!!!!

18| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 09:52:25

By the way .. have another look you Jenas haters ... Hudd lost his man because he stopped. Jenas's man was in front of him and Hudds man came in behind Jenas and scored. He even gets the blame when he's trying to cover two opponents due to a team mates laziness !!!

19| Mal (86.163.169.109) 2010-02-11 10:01:18

Mark 'sparky' Hughes anyone?

20| arshenal (117.207.70.122) 2010-02-11 10:10:02

Double Double Double! The Wolves have done the Double!

Double Double Double! The Wolves have done the Double!

And the C NTS down the Lane have f cked up again.

The Wolves have done the Double!

21| yobo (92.239.41.2) 2010-02-11 10:18:13

at least mark hughes is young plus he didnt wanna make any of them city signings like robinho and that tall arsenal ex.

22| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 10:21:04

Yeah change the manager .. that always works !
And get a young one eh yobo, those oldies Fergie Wenger ... what have they ever won?
Priceless

23| yobo (92.239.41.2) 2010-02-11 10:24:23

u dipskip dont u c tottenham need a young manager that can be incharge for 20 years to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

his own mofoing players!!!!!!!!!!!

but tottenham is strictly a club for business investment, so levy dont give a shizza bout top 4.

24| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 10:30:37

Of course everyone moans when there's a poor performance, are we supposed to moan when they play well and celebrate when play badly. Note I said play badly not win or lose. Or should we be mute, pay our hard earned, and sit smiling week in week out. of course it is silly to call for 'Arry's head, and come next Saturday us mugs will be in full voice willing a victory. But, when you pick Kaboul for right back, leave out wilson and Modric, then I'm afraid a bit of moaning is in order. what else are we supposed to do?

25| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 10:32:45

No manager will ever stay here that long yobo as you and your friends will hound them out if they haven't won the league within 18 months.
Muppets !
This time last year we lost at Bolton missing the chance to get up to 15th ... or have you all conveniently forgotten that we were in deep poo a year ago and now despite a poor 6 games we are in the top 6 !!
Rearrange these words into a well know phrase or saying ...
"built wasn't day Rome in a"

26| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 10:35:26

And it wont be buillt in the forseeable future, if we employ chippy's to lay bricks, or labourers to design the viaducts.

27| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 10:37:45

or while qualified manager's and coaches are being judged by .... chippy's and labourers,

28| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 10:38:47

Yobo, don't you think Levy would make more money from his busniess investment if we were top 4? Back to school with you.

I can only suggest we learn from this, recall O'Hara and never play Jenas again.

29| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 10:43:37

If Jenas goes who will you lot moan about week in week out regardless of performence. Oh I expect you'll find someone ....

30| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 10:48:02

Bob, that's the thing, our judgement carry's no weight. You don't think 'Arry will be sacked today because a few of us have moaned on a website, or on the coach/train back from Wolves? Mostly, apart from buying the replicas, we don't matter. However, I agree, and have said it myself, that really I know nothing, not having made it at any level in the game. however, as a 'paying' customer (40 years), for that is how they think of us, please point out to me why last nights performance doesn't warrent a moan.

31| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 10:49:35

I meant, I agree that I'm not a qualified coach and so my opinion is worth very little.

32| Bobajob (86.168.27.112) 2010-02-11 10:59:15

My point is really just to look at the wider picture, despite a recent slump we are moving in the right direction overall so lets be a bit more positive. Last night was a bad performance no question but to say, as some are here, that the manager is no good and the players are no good is nonsense. It's a poor spell which all teams encounter at some point in the season.

33| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 10:59:51

Alfie, you are entitled to moan, as we all are when players mess up or managers make elementary errors the results of which are predictable. You are also on here praising players when praise is due. It's the people who come on here moaning when we lose, but are nowhere to be seen when we are doing well that get my goat up.

34| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 11:06:58

Yes it is a poor spell and it is f frustrating. Last night was a chance and we didn't take it. The best teams take them chances. Because we are moving forward, because we have come so tantalisingly close this season to turffing one of the top four from their perch, that last night is such a blow. My big fear is that we don't make top four or perhaps Europe altogether and lose Modric and Lennon to Man utd- if they're still solvent. Then we will have gone backwards.

35| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 11:17:32

This season even 6th might not be good enough for Europe. If Villa win the league cup and finish 7th and a team out of the top 5 win the FA cup, ie either city or chelsea, 6th won't quallify. We'll have trouble holding on to modric and lennon then.

36| rvp (195.194.196.53) 2010-02-11 11:21:06

mon the goons

37| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 11:23:12

We better make sure we win the FA cup then, after all it's the FA cup game this weekend that caused Harry to rest Corluka, Mods and Palacios.

38| surreyyid (90.199.77.206) 2010-02-11 11:28:10

A fews points to ruffles some feathers.
Harry is NOT a top 4 manager.Tactically poor and buys easily managed players. These DO NOT win you jack!!
Kaboul cannot play right aback is not a top 4 centre back. DM IS his slot(if any).
Palacios has to carry the whole of our lightweight midfield. So he is getting stretched EVERY game he plays!!
Bentley although playing better, is slow. He needs back up from the likes of Kyle Naughton at RWB. Why did you loan him out harry?
Jenas and Huddlestone are killing our midfield. Jenas must be doing something special for the mgrs coz they keep playing him even though he is dire every game he plays.
Tommo can't tackle, shoot and is way to slow.
Defoe and Pav are and have always been our best front two.
Crouch is a B striker. So was Keane.
Gudjhonson(?) is way past it for the prem.
Dawson the captain!! Please rerun every game he's played in where we have conceded a goal. For all his heart, he is crap!!(ball watching for the first last night and he was lucky not to give away a stone cold pen).
Spurs need SPEED AND GRIT. Both are missing from Tottenham Softspurs at the mo....Wake up 'arry'!

39| Spuds fc (83.244.143.62) 2010-02-11 11:50:42

All though Harry won't do any better than what his done so far.I think he should be given time at least another 2 seasons to prove him self. You win games and you loose game but I can't take loosing to a newly promoted home and away but hey that's the Spurs way,We all ways get fcuk over by newly promoted teams every season so this is no surprise.Unless we get a manager who know how make a team consistant we will never be a CL contender. We have seen this for the last 20 years manager after manager. We are a mid table team lets be honest to our selfs and lets face it.season in eroupa league and another season figting relegation is all spurs will do.There is ONE and only reason I HATE Martin Jol is becase he signed Jeen-ass.

40| Spud fc (83.244.143.62) 2010-02-11 11:55:14

Latest news.Harry has been charged with 2 counts of tax evasion.mmmm make me wonder why we fcuked up last night????????

41| nobby nobbs (194.116.198.179) 2010-02-11 11:55:48

Unless we move the ball quickly we are dead meat. Opposition teams press chase second ball. Gudjohnson showed some good first touches.Bentley did well. Again our movement around our technically gited players was awful. When Bale screamed sdown the wing who attacked the near post ? The Great Western great pub.

42| raver (213.94.181.9) 2010-02-11 12:10:25

thats the promblem spurs have too many technically gifted players
Kranjcar, bentley, hud, modric and gudjohnson but none of them can run (pace) or tackle. crouch is a good player if he is played right. ie. crosses from the bye line, both kran and bentley have no pace to beat the full back to cross from the side line so they just lump it in. defoe is a box player so hoping he run from a crouch knock down from midfield area is a joke. harry and his staff will have to take the blame for not having game plan 1 2 and 3. to me spurs play better when a team attacks them so spurs can catch them on counter attack. at the moment teams just sit back and spurs cannot break them down, in order to beat a defense like that you have to keep ball and wait for the opening, instead spurs lump it in crouch direction. i said it before spurs will be lucky to finish 6th an compaired to last season it is a improvement.

43| tenchman (212.188.161.10) 2010-02-11 12:27:02

jenas in the line up means we lose -he is rubbish -how come everyone on this site can see it and our manager cannot.

we will finish 7th and be happy with that.
at least we are not in debt and next year bring new promise.

coys

44| Dan-gerous (194.62.210.50) 2010-02-11 12:29:39

@Spuds FC - dude, don't diss Big MJ for signing Jenas. If you remember correctly, Jol didn't make ANY of our signings. That was a combination of Arnesen and Comolli. I can't remember which signed Jenas and I don't care enough to research it, but I know it wasn't My Favourite Dutchman.

Of course Tottenham wouldn't be Tottenham without absolutely ridiculous overreacting from us lot after the slightest blip. Yes it's frustrating and I would personally boot Jenas in the shin to keep him out of the side for the rest of the season, but we have to give Harry time to do what he wants with the side. I question his tactical nous and that team selection reeked of complacency but someone mentioned something about a Meditteranean capital city and I have to agree with them...give it time...

45| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 12:40:12

I don't care who signed Jenas for us, I'm more concerned with who's going to sign him in the summer...someone better fcuking do it!!

46| nobby nobbs (194.116.198.179) 2010-02-11 12:44:53

raver Fair point Kranjer has been off form for a couple of weeks I hope that mends soon. Bar dawson who does tackle ? Modric tracks back, bit I didnt reallt see him as a stopper. Thudd, Palacios, kaboul Corluka, Bale, Jenas off those some are good technically and some can tackle. Some are neither.
We simply cannot cope if teams press us and chase down second ball.
Guts and determination are sadly lacking although Bentley put a shift in, from where I was standing.

47| nobby nobbs (194.116.198.179) 2010-02-11 13:16:45

Dan-gerous We havent won in the league since beating Fulham at home.Pony.

48| Dan-gerous (194.62.210.50) 2010-02-11 13:22:43

Dear lord I love forums. To paraphrase Homer Simpson: Mmmmmm...insults without foundation!
I get the point. Things aren't going great. We need a ready-to-go replacement for Lennon to inject pace and dynamism, my feeling is that we should have given one of the Kyles a bash there. They seem nippy. But still...it's not the end of the world lads!

49| nobby nobbs (194.116.198.179) 2010-02-11 13:25:38

Bobajob WTF are you on about. You mean as we approach the home straight teams work out how to play us, and our limited tactical manipulations, and we fall apart. You bet Ill moan mate.
Playing your guts out and getting beat is one thing, being brilliat and not scoring (Hull-but not brilliant)is another. But being shite , last night, making shite substitutions (Birmingham) and not making any ( Villa) is bollix.
TYhe great thing about football is that you can scream your head off, write what you like..its not a resturant,.. hows your match sir? fckin shie actually now fck off and get me a bottle of vodka and a shotgun........nurse

50| garf (78.32.180.209) 2010-02-11 13:29:39

Huddlestone is a beautiful passer and distributor, it's not his game to run around like a maniac, his game is about that. Jenas offers none of this apart from giving the ball away to the opposition, twirling round with it as he can't read very well where his teammates are doing their runs and passing backwards or giving a ball that is hard to control.
Basically when Jenas plays we lose and it is because of him as he fills a vital link between the defence and attack. We then revert to a long ball game as going through the middle involves this pile of s t.

51| Craig Grant (192.158.34.20) 2010-02-11 13:44:00

Saul you may well moan but this forum was dead when things were going well !

52| phil beal (83.79.244.235) 2010-02-11 13:44:01

jj is having italian lessons because inter milan are interested!!
tell you what tell him to give me a call and i will drive him to milan free and stick an italian languauge tape on for him so he can brush up on his italian.
some useful phrase he should learn first might be

pass the ball to me so i can pass it backwards
oops sorry missed another tackle
oh was i meant to mark that guy who just scored
please please please go to milan and enjoy they sell lovely leather clutch bags to add to your collection

53| PeckhamYid (82.109.66.150) 2010-02-11 13:45:05

We've turned from a crisp, fluid passing team into a long ball, hit and hope team. I blame the requisition of Crouch.

54| phi beal (83.79.244.235) 2010-02-11 14:02:57

i can see it now!!!!!!!!

55| Spuds fc (83.244.143.62) 2010-02-11 14:13:20

Sorry I take back the comment about M.Jol if it wasn't him who signed JEEN-ASS but it goes to the FCUKER who did,his(jeen-ass) mother must have given him a good time.We need to also give old ARRY time because I belive a manager should be given time to show their ability.I bet Jeen-ass is all the directors, chaiman and Arry's soap boy that's why they love him so much and don't realise how siht he is

56| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 14:16:39

Craig, if we were playing slick push and run football, beating teams week in and week out by three or four goals, what else would we talk about. Sorry, apart from you and Alan who would argue for paragraph after paragraph abot the interpretation of a stat.
I can't stand the foul mouthing of people on web sites, no need for it, if it happened in a pub there'd be a fight. Is that why people do it on the web, because they can't be touched?

57| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 14:27:04

Even if we're playing well we can always come back to whether or not King should retire.

58| nobby nobbs (194.116.198.179) 2010-02-11 14:38:25

jenas has retired ,but he is still getting paid and played.

59| mdb (62.60.98.133) 2010-02-11 14:55:17

afternoon all. the banter is in full flow I see. even with some new 'posters'. welcome to you.
right.....lets look at where we are. 6th. and 3 points from 4th. plenty of games to play.
The problem is that Harry is taking the cup far too seriously for our league position. Palacios Charlie should have started yesterday. Jenas Kaboul should only be used if other players are dead!

BEST 11 players start every game from now until the end of the season please Harry.

60| mdb (62.60.98.133) 2010-02-11 14:57:12

I did meanth 5th!

61| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 15:07:53

I think you were right first time.

62| dorian (62.140.213.2) 2010-02-11 15:13:19

JJ should have been sent to Portsmouth.... o'hara should be in the spurs squad i know he is not the best player but would give 100% each and everywhere he plays for us.... unlike the aforementioned JJ who strolls around loosing the ball and generally happy just to pick up his wages for a below standard performance each and every time he plays...

63| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 15:24:52

All is not lost. I still think 4th spot is not out of reach. Like City, we will drop points we shouldn't but will also pick up points where we wont be expected to, Arsenal and Chelsea at home for us.
City still have to play everyone else in the top 7.
Villa will draw too many to be in contention at the end.
Liverpool are the main worry. They are capable of going on a run without dropping points. I can see us being in contention until the last day of the season and then losing at Burnley. Dodgy Meat Pie.

Liverpool were always going to be there. too much experience for them not to be. City just have something about them to suggest they will drop points.
I'm not sure O'Hara is the answer. JJ clearly isn't. Thudd maybe lacks a bit.
Perhaps thats why Gudjohnsen has been brought in. I can see him sitting alongside Palacios at times. Maybe even Modric alongside Palacios. with Kranjcar Lenon (when back).
There are still points to play for.

And I'd rather be on 43 points than the 26 at this stage last season.

...mind you we did go from 26 to 51 so there's hope yet for a good finish!!! COYS!!!

When we play our best team and with Lennon back next week we are a very good side. Somewhere in the Top 6. However, without Palacios (which Harry had the sense to buy) in particular the balance is wrong. It's too many playmakers and not enough ball winners. 4 slow ball players across midfield against a team fighting for their lives was a massive f-up from the manager. Just idiotic to be honest but it's done and hopefully he's learned from it. O'hara is gone but what about Kaboul at DM?

ref:Alfie conns sideburns. If I was you and felt so strogly about foul mouthing people then I would not go on this website simple as.I think lot of the people and talking for my self use foul language is to show their frustration after a disapointing and poor result of a club they feel very pasionately. What's fight got to do with it? If I was in pub and I was talking about spurs to fellow spurs fan(which I do anyway)weather the person is freind or stranger and used foul lingo not towards them but towards a player whom didn't like or perform and if that person want it to fight me.I would walk away, think of that person of being sad looser or it just shows what kind of pub you go to

67| mdb (62.60.98.133) 2010-02-11 15:36:10

not seen enough of the 'new' Kaboul to suggest he is any different from our 'old' Kaboul.
But I'm willing to give you the benefit of doubt Alan and lets see if Harry agrees. To be honest he'll probably get stuck in fore than Jenarse. And Thudd for that matter.
Will we benefit from his attacking play?? (over Jenarse and/or Thudd)

68| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 15:43:54

Kaboul actually had a pretty good goal count last time he was with us. I think it was about the same as Jenas and he was playing center back. But I liked him when he was here last time so it shows what a good judge I am.

69| Alan (87.74.138.173) 2010-02-11 15:51:54

You take out Palacios from our midfield and the difference is huge. One man takes us from an embarrassing one to a successful side. The second half showing was all about his influence at least defensively. He won the ball higher up the field and we were able to dominate. The players themselves admit he inspires them to tackle (somehow the 60K a week and silverware doesn't do it). Like you mdb I am not sure about Kaboul's credentials (I wouldn't have signed him) but when Palacios is out of the midfield another ball winner needs to be played there otherwise we unbalanced. Jenas has never been a ball winner and his failing are that he's now lost goals to his game, rendering him utterly useless to any side.

70| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 15:52:24

Spuds, read my f-ing contribution. I've, got f-ing, nothing against f-ing swearing. I object to people calling people-they've never met- c-s or some such. If I met you in a pub, and we had an argument about Bently, which wouldn't be hard as i really don't like him, and I called you a c-t for thinking he was a good player, you would lay one on me. Here however people can do it, because there is no comeback. i don't want to get into some wearisome discussion about how much of life we have both seen, but i think it makes things unpleasent, is disrespectful and juvenile. A good wind up though, or p take, I think is a f-ing must.

71| Canuck Yid (64.231.86.143) 2010-02-11 16:00:08

We all knew that Modric and Palacios might have to be rested at some point before the end of the season. And we knew that Harry would give Gudjohnsen a start sooner or later. An argument could even be made that Jenas should play one last game in a Spurs shirt before he's sold this summer. And maybe there is some logical reason as to why we would want to try Kaboul at right back. But for Harry to do all these things on the same day (especially with Lennon and King both unavailable) was shocking. I'm not suggesting that Harry should be sacked. But it's pretty clear that Harry is not the manager to take us to Champions League.

72| Perry Man (87.232.78.94) 2010-02-11 16:18:07

Alfie, I think you'd have to go to a few pubs before you found someone to argue with you because you don't like Bentley.

73| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 16:22:53

The problem with Jenas is, he's the only other fcuking midfielder at the club! This is really where I think we fcuked up with letting O'Hara go on loan. I appreciate that O'Hara isn't a world beater but if we're going to have a player in the midfield who takes 4-5 touches to control a ball and make a pass, I'd rather one that can tackle than one who can't.

74| raver (83.71.110.98) 2010-02-11 16:36:18

i have no prob starting Kranjcar or modric in cen mid ahead of him, at least they can pass forward. i hope harry learned his lesson, like i said earlier today start the best 11 unless your next game is a cup final. on another note i see robbie keane is carrying on his good form in front of goals, someone should tell him the idea is to hit the back of the net with the ball

75| Craig Grant (192.158.34.20) 2010-02-11 17:01:46

I'd argue with Alfie even though I don't particularly rate Bentley either. I just like a good argument.

76| kingy (217.41.38.68) 2010-02-11 17:05:03

is this the right room for an argument

77| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-11 17:27:52

Just don't f-ing call me a cu t!

78| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 17:40:35

I'd be happy for Bentley to continue on the right of midfield particularly to avoid Lennon being rushed back. The only thing I'd want is Walker playing RB to provide pace and width like Bale does on the left.

79| nobby nobbs (82.0.227.193) 2010-02-11 18:05:00

As a matter of interest, when is HR contracted until.

80| Spuds fc (83.244.143.62) 2010-02-11 18:50:14

Respect Alfie,
Although Bently has been doing well recently I still don't rate him so I don't think we'll get in to a arguement over him LOL.

81| wert (81.111.219.117) 2010-02-11 19:03:03

with any luck harry will get banged up tomorrow! old bagpuss.

tokyo got it pretty much right, as did many others, many "slight" differences but a common theme. nice lover "bull" harry our very own dellboy of west ham. with respect he just has not got the i.q to be a thinker and i dont reckon joe will help in that regard its frustrating to have the players at the club but not on the pitch!
he cant pick a balanced side, and takes off one good un and puts on another while his "sons" tom and jj stay on(has tom ever been subbed?
its just reading the game how many chances does he get to boss midfield ditto jj next game try playing guess the sub!!! good luck with that!! a clue it wont be tom

what about this, get a technical offensive imaginitive foreign attacking coach, and get our players to get on that training pitch, and learn how to create passes for our strikers, and get them strikers to play with imagination, cutting teams to pieces, with delicate chip balls, beautiful one twos, and my biggest bugbear, is why cant they shoot from outside of the box, shooting from outside the box is the best feeling, when its on target, its all about technique, and being pissed off when you miss the target, and learn from it , when you next shoot, honestly outside the penalty area isnt that far to shoot, and it will undo the park the bus teams, even if you dont score, but create problems for the other team, they will have to adjust their tactics, to combat your long shooting, and then you start threading balls through the new holes, and giving them more problems than we have, but playing with jackass, is like starting with 10 men, and he was totally to blame for the wolves goal, we do play good football, lots of neutrals will always watch us, but our problem is were not imaginitive up front, and with crouch in our team, too predictable, when he came on, and offered nothing.
coys

ive got a slight feeling, not definete , but could this stupid tax business be affecting harry, we dont know how its affecting him, and we must allow for this, and jenas and crouch playing is not doing our teams chances any good, one is shit ,the other is easily stopped by the opposition, im with harry , but please just play our strong team every match, we cant afford to rest players, we have to play our strongest team, and go for it, and turn our domination into goals.

85| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-11 23:05:10

big Mart, how do you expect Harry to sub Tom and JJ when we only have one other CM on the bench?

86| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-12 08:30:16

That'd be a great job title, 'technical offensive imaginitive foreign attacking coach'. But I do agree about shooting from range, we've got players like Hudd and Bentley who can (and sometimes do) shoot from outside the box. Get a few of them on target and we could be looking at goals and anything the keeper parrys will be pounced upon by defoe.

87| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-12 08:41:38

I've said before, I don't understand why we don't shoot more from outside the box, we have eneough players with a shot on them

88| MKYid (90.218.59.208) 2010-02-12 09:28:43

So much can happen from a shot from outside the box, as well as scoring or picking up the rebound we could win a corner or the shot may get deflected in! Either way it beats the hell out of just chipping it on to Crouch's head so he can nod it down into a penalty box full of players. The chip and flick-on is a very slow move too, defenders have time to read and defend it. Fire one over the top with pace and if it does get parried defenders need to react fast.

How did Eidur play for you boys the other night at wolves???? Are you please with him as i get the feeling Bagpuss just signed him to get one over on us. By the way Mido looked very good the other night he has got into shape and hope he has got his head sorted out.

90| Alfie Conns Sideburns (92.239.161.55) 2010-02-12 12:06:19

His performance was nothing to write home about, the fact that he looks like a member of the Waffen SS is. Is he really from sweden/Norway, or does he come from South America, the love child of a Nazi war criminal.
